9091 ALESSI HOB TOP KETTLE DESIGNED BY RICHARD SAPPER

Designed by Richard Sapper in 1982 the 9091 was the first "designer kettle" produced by Alessi. It is now regarded as a true design classic and has gone on to become one of Alessi's best selling products. The Kettle with it's singing whistle was inspired by the steamers and barges that ply the Rhine.

The brass whistle has two pitch-pipes in the keys of E and B, as the water boils it plays a particularly attractive melody so much better than the irritating noise of many kettles!!!

The 9091 also features a unique lever pull which raises the whistle away from the spout to enable filling and pouring. The heavy weight steel construction, with a sandwiched copper base, ensures good heat transmission. Can be used on gas, electric or ceramic hobs and argas. A steel bottomed version for use on induction hobs is also available upon special request.
