Privacy for ages 16–17
This summary is written for younger learners. The full Privacy Notice has the complete legal detail and applies as well.
Paper Tiger is for people aged 16 or over. We ask you to confirm that you are at least 16, but we do not ask for your birthday or exact age. We apply the relevant privacy protections to every learner account. If you are under 16, you cannot create or use an account.
We save your email, account settings and the study work you choose to keep, such as transcripts, feedback, progress and flashcards. This lets Paper Tiger remember your work. A restricted owner-administrator can open your account identity and minimum study metadata when reasonably needed to operate or support the service. That audited view can show topics, modules, dates, counts, review state and progress, but does not load your transcripts, answers, feedback, prompts, source material, flashcard text or private Studio titles. A separate, audited quality-control view may show learning materials Paper Tiger generated for you—such as a task question, best answer, Quick Check and flashcards—so we can check that those materials are accurate, relevant and safe. It does not show the answer or transcript you submitted, learner-specific feedback, uploaded source text or raw AI output. You can export your information or ask us to delete your account in Settings.
If you ask for AI grading, transcription or another AI feature, the information needed for that request is sent securely to Novita AI or OpenAI, depending on the feature. Text grading normally uses Novita AI; OpenAI handles fallback grading, voice transcription, handwriting and diagrams. AI can be wrong. It is study support, not an exam result or professional advice. Do not enter private facts about clients, patients, employees or other real people.
Accounts for people aged 16 or 17 can use Paper Tiger's learning service, but cannot currently complete paid checkout. Paper Tiger does not yet offer a parent-purchase route. A future adult-purchaser process would be separate and would not give the purchaser access to a learner's answers, transcripts, progress or messages.
Optional analytics are off unless you choose them. Paper Tiger does not sell or license identifiable learner data, show behavioural advertising, give learner profiles to employers, use your content to train general-purpose AI models, or proctor exams. We may use properly anonymised statistics about broad patterns, but not your transcript, answer, feedback, account or an identifiable learner profile. You can export your information and choose whether to share that export. We would reassess and explain any important new use before introducing it.
You can ask what information we hold, correct it, object to some uses, or ask for deletion. Email hello@paper-tiger.co.uk. You can contact us yourself. If something makes you feel unsafe, you can also speak to a trusted adult.
